The World Heritage Sites Found In The Country Of Morocco

December 23rd, 2010

It can be so tough to choose where to go on vacation sometimes. You want to travel to someplace you know will be fun, but you don’t want to have to deal with mobs of tourists clogging the streets. You want all the good things that come with vacation, but you don’t want to have to deal with touristy attractions. If you are looking for a place that has all these benefits but without the crazy mobs, head to Morocco. Just remember that you will need a passport, and make sure it’s not damaged or missing. If your passport is in bad shape or if you can’t find it, go online and access an expedited American passport service.

Passport expediting is what these online sites specialize in. These sites help people who would rather not wait at the post office and then wait for months until their passport gets to them. All you need to do is go online, complete an application, pick when you’d like your passport delivered by, and then you’re set. They offer even more services than just quick shipping, such as helping people add passport pages.

Within Morocco, there are lots of officially declared World Heritage Sites. Sites get this special distinction from UNESCO for having invaluable cultural, historical, or natural significance on our planet, and this means they are great places to visit.

Most of Morocco’s World Heritage Sites are archaeological or historical in nature. One of the most famous is Valubilis, which used to be a very important town in the time of the Romans. There is much to explore in Valubilis, as it’s a whole town of ruins. The two most important buildings are the Capitol and the Basilica. The Capitol still features much of its columns, and the Basilica still has a main path through its middle. There are many mosaics depicting Classical Roman Mythology, such as one of the goddess of the hunt and the moon, Diana, and one of various types of sea monsters.

Meknes is another very famous World Heritage Site in Morocco. It is similar to Valubilis in that it also has a very long history and is full of interesting things to see. It differs from Valubilis because people still live there. The palace of Dar El Makhzen is one of the most spectacular things to see. This palace was occupied by the ruler of Morocco, Moulay Ismail. He ruled over Morocco for 60 years throughout the 17th and 18th centuries. Bab Mansour gate is another interesting thing to see. It was built by the renowned El-Mansur, who used actual columns from the site of Valubilis to construct it. When Ismail asked El-Mansur if he was able to do better, El-Mansur replied yes, and Ismail had him executed.

Morocco is full of culture, history, and religion. It’s such a colorful place to visit, without the usual crowds and crowds of tourists hindering your experience. Don’t forget to pack your passports. Remember that you can find an expedited passport service online, where you can take care of anything you need for your passports – whether you need to renew it, replace it, or add US passport pages.

Going On A Trip To The Enchanting City Of Madrid

October 18th, 2010

Many vacationers consider Madrid to be one of the very best destinations available. The cuisine and museums alone create an irresistible attraction. A culturally rich and beautifully colorful city, Madrid should be on the top of your must see list but remember, you will need a passport to visit here. With online passport sites available, you can get your expedited American passport and in your hand in as little as 24 hours so your excursion to this beautiful city can happen more quickly than you may have thought.

Doing business with a reputable passport expediting service means adding a whole new level of convenience to your travel experience. Sites like these can address all sorts of services: from passport expediting and applying or a replacement passport to changing the name on your passport or just adding more pages. Whatever sort of passport business you need to conduct, these websites can address them all.

When you think of Madrid, one of the first things that come to your mind is good food. One delight that originated here in Spain is Tapas. This delightful appetizer comes in as many varieties as there are pubs and restaurants in Spain so be sure you don’t miss enjoying them in Madrid. Sopa de Ajo, or garlic soup, is another Spanish treat as are the famous lamb dishes Gallinejas and Entresijos. Don’t miss enjoying a meal at the oldest restaurant in the entire world, Botin, which is located in Madrid and opened in 1725.

Many spots in Madrid are UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Toledo, the ancient walled city, was the original capital of Spain. All the medieval elements and architecture are enough to make you feel like you’ve traveled back in time. El Escorial, located in the mountains, is where you can find the world’s largest monestary: Royal Monastery of San Lorenzo de El Escorial. Alcala de Henares has a very interesting story. It was to be the original Civitas Dei, or City of God. Civitas Dei was supposed to be the first actual utopian community, a perfect urban setting. Later, it became the center of learning during the Renaissance, and is also where Miguel de Cervantes, the author of Don Quixote, lived.

There are so many places of interest to visit, it is hard to know where to begin. One single street is home to three world famous art museums making Madrid a must see for art lovers. Museo del Prado houses classical pieces of art while the Reina Sofia National Museum and Art Center present modern art, including Picasso’s Guernica. The third is Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum of Art and contains masterpieces from all corners of the globe.

The spectacles available for your enjoyment are limitless in Madrid from world famous art to authentic flamenco dancing. The shopping experience is second to none if you visit Rastro, a popular flea market where you can find anything and everything. A ride on Teleferico, the cable car, will provide a spectacular view of the city but all this can only be enjoyed if you have a passport. If you need to get your expedited passport, locate an online passport website and you will have your passport needs filled quickly and efficiently, even if you need a pasport replacement. Once your passport is in hand, the world and Madrid can become your playground.

It was discovered by workers digging a well in 1974 and is famous for its terracotta carvings. Figures represented include warriors, horses, chariots, musicians, acrobats and strongmen and number approximately 8,000. South American World Heritage Sites – Certain To Astound

September 2nd, 2010

Take a break from the standard family vacation this year and get out of the country. Seeing the world is one of the most fun and educational things you can do with your family and the memories that come from such a trip won’t be quickly forgotten. However, you’ll need a passport, including a American passport for children.

South America is one of the most unique, interesting, and exotic locations on Earth, and is full of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. These sites are specially designated as particularly important to our common human past. Seeing some of these World Heritage Sites ensures seeing some of the most culturally and naturally relevant places on Earth.

Traveling to South America requires a passport. While this generally make people groan, it’s amazing how easy it’s gotten. Online passport expediting services means you can get your passport as soon as you need it, in opposed to being at the mercy of the traditional wait time.

The city of Cuzco, sometimes spelled Cusco, was the center of the Incan civilization. Found in Peru, it is rich with Inca culture and ancient ruins give insight into one of the most mysterious cultures on our planet. The Church of La Compania is only one of the historic sights that can be seen here.

The Galapagos Islands are one of the most incredible locations on Earth. As the same place that Charles Darwin became inspired to write his Origin of Species, the Galapagos Islands is teeming with life, both on land and in the sea. Whether you go mountain hiking or scuba diving, you are sure to meet some of the island’s famous residents, like the giant Galapagos tortoise, the marine iguana, albatrosses, penguins, and sea lions.

South America is known for their tropical rainforests and this certainly did not escape the United Nations notice. Listed as a World Heritage Site, the Iguazu National Park is rare in beauty and rich in valuable rainforest life. Visitors can enjoy the Iguazu Falls as the rushing waters create a mist cloud that quenches the surrounding plant and animal life. While it is thought at the first human ventured into these forests over 10,000 years ago, today not only humans but also exotic animals like jaguars and tapirs can be seen making this park their home.

Many are surprised that glaciers can be found in South America and if you would like to experience this natural wonder, visit Los Glaciares National Park in Argentina. Glaciers in this national park have been created by the Andes Mountains ice cap which is the third larges ice cap in the world. The number one and number two positions are held by Antarctica and Greenland. Over 1000 different species of birds and extensive wildlife are also found here like the gray fox and Guanaco. A visit to Los Glaciares National Park is truly an experience with nature at its best.

We have highlighted only a few of the spectacular and significant sites available to you and your family if you travel to South America but you will need a passport. Since every member of your family will need a passport, a American passport for children is only valid for five years so if you have a minor child in your family, an online passport site can provide United States passport expediting services for a child’s passport or any other passport need that you or your family may have. Get your passport and give your family that gift of a South American experience.

Experience Central America - A Mecca Of Incredible World Heritage Sites

August 21st, 2010

Sometimes you just need to get away for a little while. Whether you’re going on a family vacation, a vacation with your buddies, or just a vacation for yourself, deciding where to go can be tough. However, don’t submit yourself to just another traditional sort of vacation. Do something a little different, and just get yourself out of the country. A lot of people would say this costs more money but it doesn’t necessarily have to. Taking a road trip to Mexico or boat trips to the Caribbean only require a USA passport card online, and the conversion rate means you’ll get a bigger bang for your buck. And since you are able to get your US passport card online, you don’t even need to leave your house until you’re ready to go.

If you chose to travel to a neighboring country by air, you will need a regular passport but if you travel by land or by sea, you have the option of using a passport card. Remember, if an opportunity for travel surprises you, you can get your passport quickly by accessing an express passport service online. These service are as convenience as going to your home computer and sites are available that are total secure and exceptionally efficient.

Wherever you decide to travel, you wouldn’t want to get back home and find out you missed the opportunity to see an awesome place because you didn’t know it existed. To avoid this happening, be sure to consult the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization’s list of World Heritages Sites located at your vacation destination. Through this organization, the United Nations has sought to identify places that hold extraordinary value related to mankind’s natural and cultural history.

Mexico has 29 World Heritage Sites, the most in any country in the Americas. Among these are the El Vizcaino Biosphere Reserve and the Monarch Butterfly Biosphere Reserve. Both of these sites hold so much wildlife to encounter, some of which can’t be found anywhere else in the world.

If you are thinking of maybe going further into Central America, there are many World Heritage Sites you will come by. One of these is Cocos Island, located just off shore of Costa Rica. This site is famous for its diving. The deep waters surrounding the island house large marine animals, including schools of hammerhead sharks, giant rays, and dolphins. Colorful coral reefs, volcanic tunnels, caves, and other interesting marine topographical features make exploring this island different than any other Caribbean island.

A location names the “Pompeii of the Americas” can be found in the city of Joya de Ceren. This El Salvadorian city provides an exciting historical revelation concerning the city of Joya de Ceren. The volcano named Loma Caldera erupted in 590 AD and literally put the city into suspended animation. The preservation of daily life like partaking in meals as well as the preservation of the landscape by this eruption gives us an opportunity to look back into the way life was so very long ago.

Maybe you can see that you really don’t have to go very far to experience an exciting and enriching vacation. Right on our own boarder lays an opportunity to look through the windows of time. If you are in a hurry to get started, express pass port service online can help you get that passport quickly. If you decide to travel by car or boat, a passport card may be all that you need and with the availability of getting a pass port card online online, you have no excuse to delay your journey to Mexico and Central America.
