Lost United States Passport – Recovering It Is Easier Than You’d Believe

September 13th, 2010

Anyone who has the tendency to lose things knows that losing a passport usually happens at the worst possible time. The bags are packed, the travel clothes are ready for the drive to the airport, and then the realization sets in that the lost passport is nowhere to be found. The stress begins to mount and in the blink of the eye, a peaceful upcoming vacation turns into a situation that causes a meltdown.

However, a quick search on the Internet will reveal that the passport can be replaced. A sigh of relief until the realization sets in that processing via the U.S. Department of State or Post Office will take a minimum of four, and possibly up to eight, weeks. The stress begins to mount again because this is not a feasible timeframe in this situation.

There are other alternatives available and they may be found by doing an Internet search. Private service providers offer replacement passport processing within one to two business days. The paperwork required is essentially the same, with the exception of one or two forms that the private company may require for indemnification purposes. These companies do charge an additional fee over what the government charges, but it is a small price to pay for having a new passport when necessary.

One of the quickest ways to help move this process along is to have all the necessary paperwork in order and copies made before contacting one of these services. Each lost passport that is being applied for requires that governmental forms DS-11 and DS-64 be filled out. These can easily be found online on either the service’s website or the government’s passport page.

The identifying documents that are required include a birth certificate from the city, county, or state in which the individual was born. Certified copies that do not contain the entity’s official seal will not be accepted. Therefore, obtaining the proper type of birth certificate is something that must be done prior to being able to get a new passport.

A driver’s license is the next piece of identification that will be needed and this must be at least 6 months old or more. If this is not available to the individual, for whatever reason, there are secondary forms of identification that may be used. These consist of a wide range of things, but the common thread is that one must contain a picture and one a signature, even if they are separate documents. It is also possible that other forms of proof will be required such as a utility bill or even a high school diploma.

Some of the other information that must be provided includes a travel itinerary or plane ticket. Two identical color photographs must be supplied with the paperwork. These photos must meet certain requirements because they will be used in the passport itself. Again, it is important to check the list of required documents in order to review the specifications for these photos.

Once everything is gathered, photocopied, and completed as necessary, it should be sent out as one package via a traceable mailing method like FedEx or UPS. To speed receipt, the package may be sent via next day air service. This will enable the quickest processing period for replacement of a Lost Passport. A new passports application will be mailed to applicants whose stress-free vacations may then begin.

Tahiti – Gem Of Polynesia

September 8th, 2010

If an island paradise is the vacation destination you are looking for, you should seriously consider a trip to Tahiti. Located in the Pacific Ocean, Tahiti is known for unmatched beauty both under the water and on the land but you have to have a passport to visit. A US passport can be purchased quickly and easily if you go online and find an expedited U S passport renewal service offered by any one of the many online passport offices. These services provide extensive security making their use secure and efficient.

Tahiti is located in a group of islands called French Polynesia and is, in fact, the largest of this particular group. French is the main language spoken in Tahiti but many of the native residents speak in the Tahitian dialect. With plenty of nonstop flights from California and Hawaii available, getting to Tahiti is easy but if you are the owner of a lost US passport, be sure to report it immediately and get a new one as a passport is required for travel to Tahiti. There are no other visas, vaccinations or certifications required but it is imperative that you have a passport.

The snorkeling and diving scene in Tahiti is one of the things that make it so special. Some popular diving sites are the St. Etienne Drop-Off, Tetopa Grotto, and one spot called Papa Whisky. Shipwrecks, caves, and diverse underwater landscapes make diving in Tahiti a very special sort of experience. The black sand beaches are a signature sight of Tahiti. The main island is made up of two volcanic mountains. Nature hikes are also a great way to become acquainted with the Tahitian landscape. Misty mountain paths and whispering jungles wait to be explored.

There are some activities available to the visitor in Tahiti that are uniquely Tahitian. The traveler can assist a professional shark feeder by wading into four to seven feet of crystal blue water and feeding shark as they swim by. Glass-floored cottages suspended directly over the water treat the vacationer to a view of sea life that is not available anywhere else in the world. The color variety found in the sea life and coral configurations create a visual treat not easily matched. You don’t want to forget to look for the beautiful Tahitian black pearl while visiting the beautiful, incredibly clean black beaches but remember, all the pearls aren’t black. A multitude of colors can be found and enjoyed and treasured forever. One more item of interest is the mysterious Easter Island. No trip to Tahiti is complete without a visit there.

The Tahitian culture is rich and mysterious but saturated with their famous otea dance. This traditional Tahitian entertainment involves the use of grass skirts and a lot of hip action closely resembling the Hawaiian hula. The difference is that the Tahitian otea is done at a much faster pace and movement is almost entirely focused on the hips. Woodwork, woven pieces and quilts are some of the most sought after Tahitian crafts and can be found in many of the vacationers’ suitcases when they arrive back home.

If beautiful beaches, crystal blue waters and breathtaking scenery create an irresistible lure for you, replace your lost passport by contacting an online expedited U S passport renewal service because that is the only official document you will need to visit Tahiti. Go west, adventure seeker, beyond California to the middle of the Pacific Ocean and discover the island paradise called Tahiti. You will be so glad you did.

The Connection Between Child Custody Agreements And U S Passports

August 27th, 2010

Nothing is more important to a parent than the safety and wellbeing of their child and this is one of the reasons the government has instituted regulations concerning the issuance of passports to children. While there is an added difficulty, this is also a benefit when you consider the number of children abducted by parents as well as the increased divorce rate amount parents of children. In the past, United States passports have actually been used to create division between a parent and a child and in messy divorces, used as a threatening weapon. When a parent has neglected to pay court ordered child support and yet attempt to acquire a passport for their child, the process comes to a quick halt, thanks to new regulations.

In Section 51.70 (a) (8) of Title 22 of the Code of Federal Regulations, it completely outlines how a parent owing more than $2500 in child support is not able to receive a passport. So many parents in the United States struggle with getting child support payments, so it’s no surprise that this is the number one reason that keeps people from getting passports. This law is a dramatic stride towards enforcing child support payments.

In order to rectify this situation, a parent who owes child support needs to contact the local county probation agency in order to arrange for payment. The State Child Support Enforcement Agency then reports to the The US Department of Health and Human Services with proof that an acceptable form of payment has been made. The Department of Health and Human Services then removes the name of the parent from the list of overdue payments, and the Department of State then gets an updated list. Passport services must also receive this list from the Department of Health and Human Services. Passport Services must then validate and verify the fact that the parent’s name has been removed. Only after all of this has been completed can a passport application be processed for the parent.

There are many other laws concerning safety when an attempt is made to purchase passports for children. The Two Parent Consent Law was enacted in 2008 and requires both parents consent before a child’s passport can be applied for. Another service whose intention is to protect children is the Children’s Passport Issuance Alert Program or CPIAP. This organization provides the service of alerting parents or guardians when a passport has been applied for their child. Information is also provided to foreign countries from the Office of Children’s Issues who also promote programs and policies to locate parents who abduct their children.

As you can see, several agencies and programs have been put into place to aid in the protection of children and their parents when it comes to the acquisition of passports for children. Perhaps these laws will lead to other legislation to help enforce the payment of court ordered child support making it harder for the neglectful payer to leave town or even the country.

How Water Dreams Are Associated With Our Feelings

August 18th, 2010

Most often, our imaginations are really strange. The strange thing is that they have a compelling feel about them, which makes us wonder if that they can turn into a reality. Some dreams are pleasant when others are not really pleasant. Dreaming is not something intentional, it happens too sudden. For instance, you may like a dream in which you are on fishing and camping trip in a deluxe floatplane charter or floatplane to Tofino. However, every dreams about water are not always pleasant. There are some people who see the threatening floods in the city or the havoc played by hurricanes or river flood. Water in dreams often implies some meaning. It’s a sense that only you can make out at the end of the day. However, there has been a lengthy history of water symbolism that can help you derive the meaning of your dream somehow.

Previously, things associated with water or fluids were recognized as things associated to our surrounding. The Greeks used to refer every watery things as the Realm of Poseidon, Lord of oceans etc. The logic behind this belief was that the earth rested upon water. And obviously land is our domain.

Therefore, psychologically speaking, we are the creatures who rely upon our own emotional world. Our talent to reason would be in peril when we fear or are in anger. For instance, if you are imagining of an approaching tidal wave, then this means that you have uneasiness about the feelings growing up inside you. likewise, drowning implies that you have a fright that is too empowering, and it appears as if you don’t have any control in your actual world.

As for floods, they are believed to give rise to something new for you. In earlier times, some mythic kingdoms were believed to have drowned by their Gods to give rise to something new. If you see too much floods in your dreams, then it’s an indication that you are going through a turn in your life. For the person who have such dreams, the destruction in itself is not as horrifying as the fright can be which tells why we go through a sensation of awe and surprise before some natural calamity.

Those who dream about a watery destruction can tackle this dream issue if they learn to endure the full impact and strength of their emotions. This will make you more aware of your fright, and you can learn to survive through the thing you fear the most. Once we become completely aware of the water, we can get skill to breathe water in our dreams. It will happen to you after the adjustment with the new style of living. You might, however, want to remember that the Poseidon Watery Realm is quite big as it carries a complete world of meaning. No doubt your dreams can go wild but they nevertheless have a limit. So the meaning of these water dreams depends on your discovering of its several paths. The significance of a threatening water dream differs from person to person, and only you are the one who can know the meaning of your dream.

The Big Question Concerning Your Next Vacation – To Explore Independently Or Use An Escorted Tour?

August 14th, 2010

When you think of international travel, are you fearful of getting lost or are you one of the adventure seekers who prefers to get out there and experience the country like the locals do? This is an important decision to make when planning your travel but first you have to be sure each member of your family has a passport so if you have a child, be sure to check into getting a kid’s passport.

On the most basic level, a guided tour is just a vacation that is pre-planned. A tour guide generally accompanies you as you explore your destination, and an itinerary is usually either selected from a travel company or created by the vacationers. Sometimes, meals, hotel accommodations, and transportation are included in the base price of these itineraries. These itineraries just outline what you and your family will be participating in during your stay. This outline can include visits to famous landmarks, natural sites, or other locations.

If you chose to travel independently, it will be necessary for you to make all the arrangements for travel and accommodations yourself. It is a lot easier than it used to be to plan an international trip yourself because no matter what information you need, it is all as close as your computer. International travel also requires a passport and online passport agencies have made getting quick passports just a click away.

Let’s talk about some of the pros and cons of taking a guided tour. Some of the problems can involve inflexibility of travel dates. Large tour companies select time periods that accommodate the majority of travelers but if you prefer to travel on the off season, you will have greater flexibility if you make the reservations yourself. Once you arrive at your vacation destination, a guided tour provides a strict timetable for site-seeing and if too much has been scheduled, you may find yourself exhausted rather than refreshed after your vacation. The positive reasons to use a guided tour company are numerous. Frequent visits to the same areas create an expertise that one visit independently simply can’t provide. Guess work concerning accommodations and dining is totally removed and a tour company’s experience will insure trouble free vacationing. Some also provide time periods for independent exploration or multiple choices for excursions.

Traveling without the aide of a tour group has its ups and down also. If you go it alone, you are responsible for all your own reservations including travel and accommodations. If you are traveling to a foreign country where you don’t know the language, getting around is further complicated. One thing that independent travel provides is flexibility and freedom. If you happen upon a museum or location that is fascinating to you, you can linger as long as you like. If you had planned to go to a certain city but then discovered someplace else you think you would rather visit, you certainly have the freedom to do so although all the arrangements are totally your own responsibility.

The decision to travel independently or utilizing a guided tour company is your decision but a passport is not optional when traveling internationally. No matter your age, from the oldest to the youngest, a passport is required so if you have a newborn, be sure to get a child’s passport for your child and this can be done quickly and easily. Getting a quick United States passport is no problem with the online passport agencies available. Someone else can plan your trip but you have to apply for your own passport so get start right away. Travel dates have a way of sneaking up on you. Go it alone or go with a group, the memories are yours alone not matter the decision.
