Help Guide For Adding New Pages For Passport

January 27th, 2012

People who are prolific travelers need to acquire additional new pages for US passport from time to time. This is often a better option compared to the hassle you may go through while applying for a new passport to serve the same purpose. It is a process than can be much easier than getting a new passport which is why you should consider getting new pages added to your traveling document if you are eligible.

Four Pages or Less

One of the most important things you must realize is that your document should have less than four visa pages remaining which will signify the need to get more. If this is not the case, you cannot make such an application. If your document satisfies this condition, you can prepare for the application.

What You Need

To quick start the application process, you must have with you an application fee and your valid passport. Having all these in order, you need to fill out a special form for this purpose and mail the application together with the vital documents to the address that is indicated on the form.

Critical Care

Since you will be submitting the document via mail, it is important to ensure you use a method that allows tracing of the package. Choosing this option will prove invaluable in case of shipment problems. If possible, you should also opt for a secure mailing option since it is the only way you can be sure that the contents of your document are protected.

Expiration

If perhaps you run out of time and your passport expires before you request the additional pages, you may still ask for more at the time you apply for a new document. This option may be well suited for people who travel often and realize the need to get additional pages before the new passport they applied for is delivered to them.

Written Request Required

In this case, you must prepare a written request for the additional pages. This request should also be signed. If you are eligible, you can just fill out the DS-82 form and mail it to the address provided. In case you are not eligible, you can complete the DS-11 form and present it in person.

Tracking Mail

For eligible applicants who mail their forms, it is advisable to use a mailing option that is traceable and reliable. This will save you major loses in case a problem arises in the delivery. It is important to use mailing options that are secure so your document will be safe from unauthorized use and to give you peace of mind.

In the quest for getting new pages for pass port, you may be wondering how many times you can apply and the number of additional pages available to you upon your request. Remember that you must have four or less pages remaining before a request is made. It may be better in the long run to get a US passport renewal as opposed to more pages.

The Requisites Of International Flights – The Requirements You Have To Know

December 23rd, 2010

You may be planning a trip across the United States or across the world but if you will be utilizing air transportation, you need to be ready for a series of new and stricter rules and regulations. The TSA has upgraded many of their security requirements and travel will be easier if you are prepared for the new requirements. Security is very important to ensure your safety and that is the reason for added security measures and the necessity of a passport. Getting a passport is quick and easy if you access a website offering an expedited U S passport service so it’s easy to get the process started.

It doesn’t matter if you are getting a new passport, replacing a lost passport or replacing an expired passport, online passport sites can assist you with all your needs in a quick and secure manner. There will also be no need to stand in long lines while you are waiting to apply for your passport.

The TSA website is a good place to discover all the rules and regulations. Preparations start with packing and it is important to know what not to try to take with you. It goes without says that guns, knives, explosives or fireworks are a definite exclusion from your luggage but there are other things that should not be packed that might not be so obvious.

Any liquids, gels or aerosols have come under very strict rules for travelers who choose to fly. The 3-1-1 rule established by the TSA gives guidelines concerning liquids. Each passenger is permitted to travel with containers in a 3.4 ounce size or less to be packed in one quart-size zip lock plastic bag and only one such zip lock bag is permitted per passenger. As you make your way through security, it will be a smoother process if you keep this zip lock bag separate from the rest of your luggage. This will make it easy for the agents to inspect. Larger quantities may be allowed for medication, baby formula, baby food and breast milk. It is wise to consider putting as much as possible in your checked luggage.

While regulations vary from airline to airline, 50 pounds is the normal allowance for checked luggage. If your luggage exceeds this weight or if you need to check more than one bag, there are fees that you will need to pay and they can really add up. In addition to your one carry-on item, you will be allowed an additional personal item like a purse or lap top computer.

When you are packing, be sure that you carry with you any necessary medication. It may be a long time before you are reunited with your checked bag so you will not want to be without needed medication or medical devices. It is also wise to dress in a comfortable fashion being sure to wear shoes that go on and off easily as you most certainly will be required to remove them for inspection. If you are asked to step out of line to endure a more involved search, remember that it is for your safety and for the safety of all the passengers.

Once this is done, you’re ready to fly. Just remember to have your passport and to take good care of it. If something should happen to it, remember that online expedited passport service can help with replacing a lost American passport or even a damaged one, so you can travel stress-free.

Some Thoughts On What To Do After You’ve Lost A US Passport

December 4th, 2010

If you are organizing an elaborate vacation with lots of traveling and moving around, don’t forget to take some important steps to prepare yourself in case some sort of accident occurs and you end up with a lost USA Passport. Whether you lose your passport during the scuffle of packing or you get pick-pocketed while you are getting on and off of trains in Europe, you should be prepared by informing yourself ahead of time, about the process of getting a new passport.

If you have lost your passport while still in the United States, then you are one of the lucky ones. Dealing with any sort of passport mishap is always easier on U.S. soil. All you have to do is fill out a form and send it to the Department of State. This form can be found online at the official website of the U.S. Department of State.

Losing your passport while traveling in a foreign country is scary because you feel like you are trapped far from home with no way of going anywhere. However, if you have done your research before hand (which is recommended), you know that all you have to do is go to the Embassy to apply for a temporary passport. Make sure you contact the authorities if your passport was stolen because you don’t want some thief going around pretending to be you.

Before you can travel anywhere without your passport, you will need to fill out a brand new application. Because embassies are no longer allowed to issue legitimate passports, they will award you with a temporary one that you can replace once you arrive in the United States again.

The Embassy will ask for proof of identity. If you had your wallet stolen with all of your ID cards, credit cards, and passport, they have other ways of checking your identity but it is more time consuming. This is why it is always recommended that you photo copy everything before leaving on your trip and keep them separated while traveling. That way, if your backpack is stolen with your passport in it, you still have a photocopy of it hidden in your toiletries bag.

If you have already left on your trip and cannot find a copy machine anywhere, write down all of your ID information with important numbers and dates on a clean piece of paper. Knowing your passport number will help to expedite the temporary passport application process.

To cover yourself financially, talk to a friend before leaving on your trip. See if she or he can loan you some money for a new passport if you are unlucky enough to lose it. Plan ahead for disaster and you will have peace of mind on your trip.

If you end up with a lost USA Passport, you won’t be trapped in a foreign country with no way out. However, the more you prepare ahead of time, the easier the process will be. Don’t panic if you lose your new passport documents but make sure you act quickly to recover it.

USA Passport Form – Do Not Put Off Just Up Until The Last Minute

August 23rd, 2010

The U.S. government relies on paperwork for everything they do and this is no different when it comes to getting a passport or maintaining one. The right United States passport form can help an individual get a new passport or renew an old one and selecting the correct one can mean the difference between a quick application and a drawn out one. There are two basic forms when it comes to getting a new passport and they are the DS-11 and DS-82.

Everyone has seen a passport at some point in their life, whether it was in real life or in a movie, with its blue cover and distinctive gold seal. The standard issue passport has a life of 10 years for adults and only five years for a minor child, 16 or under, before needing renewal. The age of the applicant plays a part in which forms will be necessary when filing an application for a brand new passport.

When applying for a new passport, the majority of applicants will need to appear in person at a Passport Acceptance facility. They will need to have the proper passport form filled out when they appear along with current identification documents proving their citizenship. The Post Office is one of the most widely used locations for applying for a passport.

In person appearances need to be made by any individual applying for a passport for the first time and any minors under the age of 16. The minors will also need to appear if they are renewing their passport until that are above the age of 16. There will be other forms of identification required and these should be on hand when making this trip.

There is also a separate form for replacing a lost or stolen passport and this may also be found online. This will need to be printed out and completed before arriving at the acceptance facility along with having photocopies or proper identification documents. This is yet another application process that must be completed in person.

As well as Form DS-11, there are some other documents that an individual needs to have with them when they appear at a designated government facility. For example, an individual will need to provide evidence of U.S. citizenship. A document that would fulfill this need is a birth certificate. Individuals who need to attain a copy of their birth certificate should contact the Vital Statistics office where they were born.

Individuals that need to appear in person should gather all their documentation together and even designate a folder to put all the information in so that it will be organized and difficult to lose. Another piece of documentation that an individual needs is form of valid identification. This can be either an old passport, as long it is not damaged, or a valid driver’s license. There are other documents accepted too, for those who do not have either of these.

A U S passport is something that is better to have and not need, than need and not have. The right American passport form can help in the application process moving along quite smoothly. One thing to keep in mind is to not sign the completed application until in the presence of an agent at the facility, otherwise it will be need to be redone completely.
