Cosmopolitan Dining In Dubai Hotels

There are restaurants offering food from all over the world in Dubai, as it is so cosmopolitan, so you’ll be spoilt for choice when you look for somewhere to eat. Dining is a wonderful experience here, especially in the Dubai hotels, which try to outdo each other with their themes and special effects.

Indian, Pakistani or Filipino restaurants are probably the cheapest here, apart from the ubiquitous fast food chains. There are many different cultures in Dubai, which each borrow a little from each other. The Lebanese, Moroccan or Iranian restaurants are the nearest you’ll get to authentic Dubai cuisine.

Iranian food seems very popular with the locals and there are quite a number of Iranian restaurants here. Spicy rice dishes are the hallmark of Iranian food, accompanied with side dishes of tomatoes, lettuce, cabbage, onion and minty yogurt sauce. The national dish of Iran is Chelo Kebab and is one of the favourite Iranian dishes served in Dubai, along with Fesenjan, which is Persian chicken served in a tasty pomegranate and walnut sauce. Prepared with rice, almonds, pistachio nuts and orange peel, Shirin Polo is the traditional wedding dish and is a great favourite with wedding parties at Dubai hotels.

For Middle Eastern food in Dubai, the best restaurants are Bielle Caffe, Al Khayal, Al Diwan, Al Iwan, and Al Khan. Appetisers and appetiser-sized courses, with olives and flat breads are known as mezzes and are what Middle Eastern food is served in. Local restaurants prefer that you drink mint or hibiscus tea with the meal, although alcohol is permitted in some restaurants.

You’ll notice a lot of street vendors selling Shawarma as you wander around the city of Dubai. Made from shavings of meat, usually lamb or chicken, mixed with a salad and rolled inside Arabian flat bread, this is a very popular, inexpensive snack here. With hotel deals to Dubai becoming more and more popular for health conscious tourists, there has been a rise in the number of health juice bars and vegetarian restaurants opening up.
